A Space Built for Mental Wellness and Sustainable Performance
Open Door Mental Wellness was founded on the belief that people deserve a trusted space to address their mental health without fear of judgment or unintended consequences. For many individuals, especially athletes, concerns around privacy and performance can create barriers to seeking support.
Open Door exists to remove those barriers. We provide a space where clients can speak openly, engage honestly in the work, and build both sustainable personal well-being and performance. Our approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, ensuring treatment is safe, collaborative, and respectful of each individual’s experiences.
SPECIALTIES
Open Door Mental Wellness serves adolescents, adults, families, and athletes, with a focus on both common mental health concerns and performance-related needs.
We specialize in working with athletes and high-performing individuals navigating performance pressure, identity, injury, recovery, substance abuse, and life transitions. At the same time, we support a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, emotional regulation, substance use, and relationship challenges.
All services are rooted in trauma-informed care, recognizing the impact of past experiences and prioritizing safety, empowerment, and meaningful growth.
ABOUT ME (ROBERT DORR, MA, LPC, NCC, ACS)
Throughout my career, I have been a clinician, director, supervisor, program developer, and leader in mental health and wellness, with experience across schools, clinical settings, and performance-based environments. My work has focused on building systems of care that are both clinically sound and accessible, while maintaining a strong emphasis on privacy and trust.
I specialize in working with adolescents, families, and athletes, helping clients navigate mental health challenges, performance demands, and life transitions. My approach integrates evidence-based practices with a practical understanding of real-world pressures, allowing for care that is both effective and relevant.
I believe that meaningful change happens in spaces where people feel understood, challenged and supported without judgment. Open Door was created to be that space.
When I'm not working, you can find me trying to keep myself active and healthy as well as trying to keep up with my family.
